Founder, Choreographer/Performer
Dance and movement have played an integral part of my personal development, a constant I’ve held closely to since a tender young age. I believe movement is innate to every living being, the correlation between activity and growth come hand in hand. In movement, I work through thought, feel feelings, and find points of communication; all that in allowing and accepting a non-linear process of growth. As part of Shu-May Dance Company, it’s my vision to continue on that exploration.
Founder, Choreographer/Performer
My main ideas in dance works revolve around contemplating societal issues; an attempt through contemporary dance to ignite change and inspire reflective minds in ultra-urban societies. I see movement not only as a universal but unifying language of story-telling. While movement is not the most direct medium of art, I believe it is one of the most versatile mediums for cross-cultural expression and communication. I am most concerned with topics of faith, family, and education, which I believe are the foundation of a thriving human being both individually and collectively.
